We're supporting Porvair in Fareham who are looking to recruit an NGS Operative to join their specialist manufacturing team.
What’s the role all about?
As an NGS Operative, you'll be responsible for the assembly and testing of high-integrity Nitrogen Generation Systems used within aerospace applications.
This is a precision-focused role where quality, traceability and attention to detail are critical. You'll work from engineering drawings, build documentation and process sheets to ensure products are manufactured to the highest standards.
Working within a highly regulated aerospace environment, you'll play a key role in supporting Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives.
Key responsibilities
Assemble Nitrogen Generation Systems in line with engineering drawings and build documentation
Work to customer specifications and controlled manufacturing procedures
Carry out precision inspections using manual measurement equipment
Maintain complete and accurate production and traceability records
Complete routing cards, test sheets and manufacturing documentation
Support quality investigations including NCRs, MRBs and audits
Operate pressure and leak testing equipment
Follow calibration and equipment control procedures
Escalate material shortages, quality concerns or production delays
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the department
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and follow 5S principles
Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
What you'll need
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or mechanical assembly environment
Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Good manual dexterity and measurement accuracy
Experience completing production records and documentation
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong reliability and timekeeping
Desirable
Aerospace manufacturing experience
Mechanical assembly experience
Experience using pressure testing or leak testing equipment
Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S and problem solving
Knowledge of filtration or aerospace products
