We're supporting Porvair in Fareham who are looking to recruit an Assembly Operative to join their Production team.
What’s the role all about?
As an Assembly Operative, you'll be responsible for the safe and accurate assembly of specialist filtration products used within demanding aerospace applications.
Working from engineering drawings, job cards and process documentation, you'll ensure products are assembled to exact specifications while maintaining the highest standards of quality, traceability and workmanship.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on assembly work within a quality-focused manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
Assemble components and products in line with engineering drawings and job cards
Work to customer and company specifications, ensuring products meet quality requirements
Maintain complete and accurate traceability records, routing cards and test documentation
Carry out visual inspections and quality checks throughout the assembly process
Follow calibration and equipment control procedures
Support MRB, NCR and audit activities when required
Escalate material shortages, delays or production issues promptly
Minimise scrap, rework and waste through efficient working practices
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production department
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and support 5S activities
Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
What you'll need
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or assembly environment
Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail and measurement accuracy
Good manual dexterity and practical assembly skills
Strong record-keeping and documentation discipline
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A reliable and quality-focused approach to work
Desirable
Aerospace manufacturing experience
Experience assembling precision-engineered products
Knowledge of filtration products or similar technical assemblies
Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S and problem solving
Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments
