Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for an Ocean Import Operator to join their office in Basildon.
Main duties include:-
Co-ordinating with other team members based in UK & USA offices to arrange container unloading and final deliveries of goods arriving into the USA depot. Checking customs entries & shipment data to ensure data is accurate prior to clearance. Sending Pre alerts to final destinations. Job processing, costing and invoicing. Other ad hoc tasks as required.
We will be looking to develop the candidate(s) with time to hopefully progress them to a more senior level with additional responsibilities and challenges. The work we do is varied and interesting and employees have the opportunity to develop and grow
Key role attributes required would be:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding (Sea Freight)
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and other MS programs including Teams.
* Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience with USA region is preferred but not essential
Ideally candidate will:
· Be a team player
· Be self-motivated with willingness to take responsibility & develop within the company
· Have good organisational skills, and be able to prioritise
Role is based at our Basildon office, regular working hours 9.00 to 17.00.
