I am recruiting on behalf of my client for an experienced Special Process Quality Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business operating within a highly regulated engineering environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Special Process Quality Engineer who is passionate about quality, continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. As a Special Process Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining quality process conditions, supporting product conformity, and driving quality excellence throughout the business.
The successful Special Process Quality Engineer will be responsible for maintaining quality process controls through preventative measures to ensure products are processed defect-free while minimising and eliminating non-conformance. You will also manage the FAIR process, conduct internal audits, support external audits, and assist final inspection activities to ensure compliance with customer, specification, and drawing requirements.
Key responsibilities of the Special Process Quality Engineer will include:
Supporting Final Inspection activities to ensure compliance with customer, specification, and drawing requirements
Conducting First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
Managing the FAIR process in accordance with company procedures
Carrying out Internal Audits of the Quality Management System against company procedures and national standards
Preparing documentation for external audits
Supporting and maintaining compliance with AS9100 requirements
Supporting and maintaining NadCap requirements
Monitoring, analysing and reporting company quality metrics
Managing non-conformance investigations and reporting
Conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective actions
Supporting and developing internal Quality Management Systems
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to drive continuous improvement initiativesTo be successful in this Special Process Quality Engineer position, you should have:
Previous experience within a quality engineering or quality assurance environment
Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems
Experience with First Article Inspection Reporting (FAIR)
Knowledge of AS9100 requirements
Understanding of NadCap requirements
Internal auditing experience
Experience managing non-conformances and corrective actions
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
