Electrical Design Engineer

I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a leading engineering and construction business that delivers innovative technical solutions across a range of complex international projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their engineering team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality electrical design solutions across a diverse project portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Electrical Design Engineer to work on technically challenging projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and playing a key role in the development, integration and delivery of electrical systems from concept through to implementation.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Producing conceptual and detailed electrical designs, installation drawings and design specifications.
Generating operational documentation and validation evidence to support project delivery.
Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure successful integration of electrical systems.
Ensuring all designs comply with safety, technical, quality and commercial requirements.
Managing and coordinating third-party design providers where required.
Supporting installation and commissioning teams with technical expertise.
Leading and participating in internal and external design review meetings.
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency gains and cost reduction.
Assisting with technical tenders, quotations and project budgeting activities.
Producing and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Managing RFQs for specialist electrical equipment and components.To be successful in this Electrical Design Engineer position, you should have:

Degree, HNC or HND qualification in Electrical Engineering.
A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience within an electrical design environment.
Strong AutoCAD experience.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Knowledge of electrical design analysis and simulation software such as Trimble MEP, DIALux or Relux.
Working knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Experience with lightning protection systems and earthing systems.
Knowledge of EMC and TEMPEST installations.
Understanding of relevant BS and ISO standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to project deadlines.Experience within modular or containerised build environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
