About the Role
As a History Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons that develop student's understanding of key historical events, themes, and interpretations. You will encourage critical thinking, analysis of evidence, and a deeper appreciation of how the past shapes the present.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum
Teach a range of topics such as medieval history, modern world history, and British history
Support GCSE and A-Level History (where applicable)
Develop student's essay writing, source analysis, and evaluation skills
Assess, track, and report on student progress
Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department
Lead or support enrichment activities such as history clubs, trips, or museum visitsAbout You
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in History or a related Humanities subject
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for historical study
Ability to make history engaging, relevant, and accessible
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
