Veritas Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Wakefield to recruit a passionate and dedicated History Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner to join a supportive Humanities department and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential KS5 depending on experience).
The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning, fostering a love of history, and supporting pupils in achieving their full academic potential.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and differentiated History lessons in line with the national curriculum
Plan, prepare and assess work effectively to meet the needs of all learners
Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to support attainment
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities where appropriate
Person Specification
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Specialism in History or a related Humanities subject
Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
Strong classroom management skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
