Humly are recruiting for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant / SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a group of pupils with more significant additional needs at a primary school in Preston from September 2026.
This SEND support role is best suited to someone confident, firm and experienced, with a strong classroom presence and a clear understanding of different SEND needs. The school needs a calm and consistent support assistant who can build positive relationships, support routines and help pupils access learning in a structured and nurturing way.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be supporting pupils with:
* Small-group SEND support
* Supporting children with more significant additional needs
* Helping pupils access classroom learning and activities
* Supporting routines, focus and emotional regulation
* Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
* Building confidence, independence and communication
* Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider primary school team
You’ll Be a Good Fit If You…
* Have experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, SEN Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or experienced Teaching Assistant
* Have supported children with a range of SEND or additional needs
* Are confident, firm and consistent in your approach
* Have strong behaviour management skills
* Understand the importance of routine, structure and positive relationships
* Can support pupils in small groups and individually
* Are proactive, resilient and reliable
* Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or are willing to apply for one
* Are willing to complete Humly’s safeguarding and compliance process before placement
