Overview
We are recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a 1-bed EBD children’s home in Enfield. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a highly focused environment, supporting one young person to achieve positive outcomes in a safe, structured, and nurturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to a young person with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a consistent role model.
Support the implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
Promote the young person’s independence, education, and social development.
Maintain a safe and supportive environment in line with safeguarding procedures and Ofsted standards.
Accurately record daily activities, incidents, and progress reports.
Work collaboratively with the wider team, external professionals, and family members where appropriate.
Participate in shift work, including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and bank holidays.
Essential Requirements
Previous experience working within a children’s residential home is essential.
Experience supporting children with EBD and/or challenging behaviours.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) – preferred but not essential.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices.
Full UK driving licence.
