Connective Careers Pathways is recruiting on behalf of a children's residential care provider for a caring, reliable, and resilient Residential Care Practitioner. You will join a dedicated team in a high-quality 3-bed children’s residential home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Grays, Essex. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity to create a stable, structured, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.

The Role

As a Residential Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in the daily lives of the young people in our care. You will act as a positive role model, supporting their emotional well-being, education, personal development, and recreational activities, while ensuring they feel safe, secure, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities:

* Supporting young people with their daily routines, life skills, and personal development.

* Promoting emotional well-being and providing high-quality, trauma-informed care.

* Encouraging and assisting young people with their education, hobbies, and activities.

* Helping to create a positive, safe, and nurturing home environment.

* Managing challenging behaviour effectively using positive de-escalation techniques.

* Maintaining accurate daily logs, reports, and communication records.

Essential Requirements:

* Previous experience working within a children's residential care setting is highly desirable, though not essential.

* A compassionate, patient, resilient, and confident approach when supporting young people.

* Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally.

* A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine commitment to making a difference.

* Flexibility to reliably work the required shift pattern, including weekends and sleep-ins.

Working Hours:

* 36 hours per week.

* Shift Pattern: 2 days on (including sleep-ins), followed by 4 days off.

* Includes dynamic rota coverage for weekends and bank holidays.
