Overview
Fuel Recruitment is working with a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation that’s looking for a Production Operative (Box Build) to join their team. This role sits within a high-quality, low to medium volume production environment, supporting complex electronic assemblies. You will play a key role in ensuring products are built to strict quality, cost, and delivery targets. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in electronic assembly, ideally within aerospace, defence, or a similar sector.
Working Hours
* Early Shift: Monday–Thursday 06:00–14:00, Friday 06:00–13:30
* Late Shift: Monday–Thursday 13:30–23:15
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and assemble units in line with customer drawings and specifications
* Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, systems, and technical notes
* Ensure all routing and work instruction sheets are followed accurately
* Adhere to quality standards including IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, AS9100 and NADCAP where required
* Maintain compliance with Health & Safety and environmental procedures
* Support continuous improvement through 5S and Lean activities
* Collaborate across engineering and production teams, including early-stage product design support
Key Skills / Experience
* Proven ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings
* Hands-on experience in wire preparation techniques including stripping, tinning, and crimping
* Background within the electronics manufacturing sector (aerospace or defence highly desirable)
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety in a manufacturing environment
* High attention to detail with a “right first time” approach to quality
* Ideally qualified to IPC and J-STD soldering standards
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
* Motivated to learn and develop new technical skills
Desirable
* Experience within a fast-paced aerospace or defence manufacturing environment
