Engineering Detail Draftsperson
Salary: Up to £45,000
Hours: 37 hours over a 4‑day week (Monday-Thursday)
Location: Gosport, Hampshire (near Fareham)
Clearence: To be considered for this role you must hold a British passport
The Role
As an Engineering Detail Draftsperson, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings for aerospace components and assemblies. Working closely with engineers and designers, you will translate concepts into clear, manufacturable designs that meet strict aerospace standards.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, thrives in a small team environment, and wants to contribute to innovative aerospace projects.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed 2D drawings and technical documentation for aerospace components, assemblies, and systems using Autodesk Inventor.
Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and technical data to generate accurate drawings.
Ensure all drawings comply with aerospace standards, company procedures, and relevant regulations.
Revise and update drawings based on engineering changes, feedback, and quality reviews.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and manufacturing teams to ensure clarity and manufacturability.
Maintain organised drawing files and documentation in accordance with company processes.
Assist with preparing technical reports and supporting documentation.
Support design reviews and ensure drawings are approved and ready for release.Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience as a Draftsperson or Detail Drafter, ideally within aerospace, aviation, or high‑precision manufacturing.
Proficient with Autodesk Inventor CAD software.
Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards (e.g., ISO standards).
Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and regulations (desirable).
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical data accurately.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant technical qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Drafting).Desirable Attributes
Experience working in a small, dynamic engineering environment.
Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Knowledge of aerospace design software and tools.
Proactive problem‑solver with a hands‑on approach.
Adaptability and willingness to support various design stages
