As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils with additional needs, supporting them to access learning and develop both academically and socially. You will play a key role in implementing tailored support strategies, working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and families to ensure each child receives the support they need.
A key aspect of this role is removing barriers to learning through targeted interventions, adapting resources, and providing consistent one-to-one or small group support. Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Act as a positive role model, building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Support with classroom organisation and general duties as required
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs)
Understanding of EHCPs and individual support strategies
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach
Ability to adapt and respond to individual pupil needs
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
