Remedy Education are looking for a strong and experienced HLTA to join a full-time position in an SEMH secondary school based in Enfield.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid SEN experience who is confident supporting secondary-aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. The school are looking for someone who can support learning across the classroom, work with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, and help manage behaviour in a calm, consistent and positive way.

The HLTA qualification is not essential, but it would be highly desirable. Candidates without the qualification will still be considered if they have clear, strong SEN experience, particularly within SEMH, challenging behaviour, PRUs, alternative provisions, or specialist school settings.

The Role:

As an HLTA, you will:

* Support pupils with SEMH needs across the school day
* Work with students on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Assist with delivering lessons and supporting classroom learning
* Help manage behaviour using a calm and consistent approach
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement, and routine
* Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and wider pastoral team
* Provide cover support where required
* Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* HLTA qualification desirable but not essential
* Strong SEN experience is essential if no HLTA qualification is held
* Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour
* Previous experience in a secondary school, SEN school, PRU, alternative provision, or similar setting
* Confidence supporting learning and behaviour across different classes
* A resilient, patient, and proactive approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a strong SEN support professional looking to take the next step in an SEMH secondary school setting.
