An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Ventilation Engineer to join a leading engineering team supporting major projects at Sellafield.
Working on the MSSS SEP programme, you'll be responsible for delivering ventilation system designs and layouts for complex nuclear facilities, ensuring compliance with stringent safety and regulatory requirements.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on nationally significant projects while benefiting from a flexible hybrid working arrangement and a long-term contract.
The Role
As a Mechanical Ventilation Engineer, you'll provide specialist design expertise, developing ventilation solutions that support the safe operation of nuclear facilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Producing HVAC and mechanical ventilation system designs for nuclear applications
Developing ventilation layouts, calculations and engineering design packages
Supporting the design and modification of plant ventilation systems
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
Ensuring designs comply with nuclear industry standards, regulations and project requirements
Participating in design reviews and providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle
Supporting technical documentation, design substantiation and engineering assurance activities
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Ventilation or HVAC Engineer
Experience producing ventilation designs and layouts within complex engineering environments
Strong understanding of HVAC principles, airflow calculations and ventilation system design
Experience producing engineering calculations and technical documentation
Knowledge of relevant British Standards and industry codes
HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Desirable Experience
Previous experience working on Sellafield or within the nuclear sector
Knowledge of MSSS SEP or similar nuclear infrastructure projects
Experience working within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence or energy
Familiarity with engineering assurance, safety cases and design substantiation processes
