Warrington | £41 per Hour (Inside IR35) | Hybrid - 3 Days On Site | 12-Month Contract

We're looking for a Mechanical Designer / Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of innovative engineering solutions on complex nuclear projects. Working within a collaborative design team, you'll be involved in developing bespoke mechanical equipment and tooling that plays a vital role in supporting one of the UK's most important infrastructure programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong design experience who enjoys solving technical challenges in a highly regulated environment.
The Role
You'll be responsible for producing high-quality mechanical designs and engineering documentation to support the manufacture and installation of specialist equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing 2D and 3D mechanical designs and engineering drawings
Developing design packages for manufacture and installation
Supporting the design of bespoke tooling and mechanical equipment
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver project objectives
Preparing technical documentation, method statements and risk assessments
Ensuring designs comply with relevant engineering standards and safety requirements
Participating in design reviews and providing technical input throughout the project lifecycle
About You
We're looking for candidates with:
Experience in mechanical design or mechanical engineering
Proficiency with 3D CAD software and engineering drawing production
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical assemblies
Experience producing engineering documentation and design packages
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Desirable Experience
Experience within the nuclear, defence, energy or other highly regulated sectors
Knowledge of bespoke tooling, lifting equipment or plant modification projects
Familiarity with engineering standards and quality assurance processes
Experience working on projects for Sellafield or within the nuclear decommissioning sector
