Austin Dean Recruitment is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Playworkers to support a well-established children's play service in East London.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within an outdoor adventure playground environment, helping children and young people develop through creative, stimulating, and child-led play activities. The role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children's development, wellbeing, and social inclusion.
As a Playworker, you will:
* Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating play environment.
* Facilitate child-led play activities in line with Playwork Principles.
* Encourage children and young people to participate in a variety of creative, physical, and developmental activities.
* Support the delivery of after-school, weekend, and holiday programmes.
* Build positive relationships with children, young people, parents, and carers.
* Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.
* Assist with maintaining play structures and equipment, carrying out health and safety checks where required.
* Support inclusive play opportunities for children from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Experience delivering play activities for children and young people aged 6–15 years.
* A recognised Playwork qualification (Level 2 or above).
* Understanding of Playwork Principles and child development.
* Experience working in an open-access play setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work outdoors throughout the year in varying weather conditions.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
* First Aid qualification.
* Food Hygiene qualification.
* Experience within an adventure playground environment.
* Experience building or maintaining play structures.
