Salary: Up to £40,814 per annum + £5,500 Specialist Skills Shortage Bonus
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Plumbing & Heating Engineering Lecturer to join a well-established Further Education provider.
This role would suit either an experienced lecturer or an industry professional looking to move into education. You'll deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across Plumbing & Heating programmes, helping learners develop the technical skills, knowledge and confidence required to succeed within the industry.
Working across full-time study programmes and apprenticeships, you'll combine practical workshop delivery with classroom-based learning, ensuring learners are equipped with current industry standards and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging practical and theoretical Plumbing & Heating lessons
Teach and assess learners across full-time and apprenticeship programmes
Support students to develop industry-standard skills and safe working practices
Embed current regulations, legislation and sustainability principles into delivery
Monitor learner progress and provide timely feedback
Maintain high standards of health & safety and safeguarding
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
Requirements
Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing
Gas competency
Industry experience within Plumbing & Heating Engineering
Assessor and IQA qualifications desirable, or willingness to work towards them
Strong knowledge of current industry standards and regulations
Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting others
Teaching qualification desirable but not essential, with support available to achieve one
