Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Manager to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programmes to ensure a secure working environment for all staff. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to organisational safety standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety practices. The Health and Safety Manager will be instrumental in identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.

Job Duties

Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across all operational areas to identify potential hazards.
Develop, review, and update health and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation.
Provide first aid assistance when required and ensure that first aid kits are well-stocked and accessible.
Lead investigations into accidents or near-misses, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Prepare comprehensive reports detailing safety incidents, audit findings, and recommended corrective actions.
Deliver safety training sessions to staff at all levels, fostering awareness of best practices and organisational policies.
Collaborate with management to implement safety initiatives and monitor their effectiveness over time.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
Training of staff - Ensuring that employees are trained on safe practices and use of equipment.
Experience

Proven experience working as a Health and Safety Manager or in a similar health and safety role within an industrial or corporate environment.
Demonstrable knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
Experience in report writing with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation for internal use and regulatory compliance.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis of incidents or hazards effectively.
First aid certification is essential; additional qualifications in occupational health or environmental management are advantageous.
Previous experience conducting risk assessments and delivering training programmes is highly desirable.
