Empowering Learning is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Bedlington, Northumberland.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people with a range of additional learning needs, helping them to achieve their academic, social, and personal goals within a supportive and inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching that meets the individual needs of learners and enables them to reach their full potential.
The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech and Language Needs, and other additional needs
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents, and external agencies
Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary
Contribute to EHCP reviews and support the implementation of individual learning plans
Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs
Is passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for all learners
Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills
Is patient, adaptable, and committed to meeting the needs of individual pupils
Can build positive and effective relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within a primary, secondary, or specialist educational setting
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Ability to provide satisfactory professional references
Right to work in the UK
