Van Driver - Weekend Work

BBS Recruitment is an independent recruitment agency specialising in the Transport and Logistics sector, supplying staff to a wide range of clients across the UK.
We are currently recruiting 3.5 Tonne (Van) Refuse Drivers on behalf of our client based in the Hammersmith & Fulham area.
The Role for the van driver:
This is an ongoing opportunity involving the collection of refuse and recycling throughout the borough. You will be responsible for driving a 3.5-tonne vehicle while assisting with the loading and unloading of street bins and ensuring waste collections are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities for the Van driver:
* Drive a 3.5-tonne vehicle to collect household and commercial waste and recycling.
* Load and unload street bins as part of refuse collection operations.
* Follow designated collection routes and schedules.
* Ensure the safe operation of the vehicle in residential and urban areas.
* Complete collection records accurately and report any missed collections or issues.
* Adhere to all health and safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE.
* Provide a professional and courteous service when interacting with members of the public.
* Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
Shifts Available for the van driver: Weekends Only
Hours:
* AM Shift: 6:00am – 1:00pm
* PM Shift: 1:00pm – 7:00pm
Requirements for the van driver:
* Valid UK Category B driving licence.
* Minimum of 1 year's refuse or waste collection driving experience.
* No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (for insurance purposes).
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
* Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
