Long Term Futures is seeking a motivated and versatile Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Shirley. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated team within a small educational setting that provides tailored support for pupils with a wide range of additional needs.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual targets. We are looking for someone who can adapt their approach to meet the varying needs of pupils while contributing positively to the wider school community.

About the Role
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and wider support staff, you will provide personalised support to students across the school. No two days are the same, and your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting pupils through individualised learning activities tailored to their needs and abilities
* Developing positive and professional relationships with both students and colleagues
* Adhering to safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns in line with school policy
* Recognising signs of dysregulation and supporting students to access appropriate interventions when required
* Promoting positive behaviour through consistency, encouragement, and structured routines
* Recording and communicating relevant information with teaching staff and families
* Supporting pupils across different age groups and areas of the school as required

Ideal Candidate Profile
* Previous school-based experience is beneficial but not essential
* Candidates from care, support work, residential care, or similar backgrounds are encouraged to apply
* Experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties, Autism, SEND, or behaviours that may challenge, either professionally or personally
* A willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
* Able to bring enthusiasm and energy to the role while remaining calm and composed when supporting students through challenging moments
* Comfortable providing personal care where required
* Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential
* Psychology graduates and candidates with SEND-related qualifications are welcomed
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential due to the location of the school
