Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a welcoming primary school? We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a popular one-form entry primary school in Borehamwood, providing high-quality support across KS1 and KS2.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant who enjoys leading learning, supporting pupil progress and working as part of a collaborative school team.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Deliver high-quality PPA cover across Year 1 to Year 6, following teachers planning and ensuring continuity of learning.
• Lead whole-class learning in the teachers absence, maintaining a positive and purposeful classroom environment.
• Plan and deliver targeted intervention groups in reading, writing and maths.
• Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs to access the curriculum successfully.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to class teachers.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement and achievement.
Requirements
The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:
• HLTA status or proven experience working at HLTA level within a primary school.
• Recent experience delivering whole-class cover and interventions across KS1 and KS2.
• Strong knowledge of English, maths and the primary curriculum.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive, flexible and team-focused approach.
• Experience supporting pupils with autism or other SEND needs (desirable).
