Our client is a market leading, well established, retail company, who specialise in the sale of Agricultural and Garden equipment, they are a supplier of some of the country's leading brands, and are one of the largest dealerships in Ireland.

We are seeking an experienced Farm Machinery Service Manager to join the existing team in one of my client's Cork locations.

As the Farm Machinery Service Manager you would report directly to the Managing Director and would manage the operations and staff of the service department, comprising of a service advisor and 11 technicians to ensure a high level of customer service and an efficient workshop.You would also participate in setting the company's overall management and direction with a seat at the company's dept heads meetings.

The service department supports customers of my clients brands and their sales department in refurbishing trade-ins of all products and makes.

Responsibilities:

Enable, monitor and drive the productivity of the service team.
Engage as required with customers on service matters.
Ensure the service department works well with the sales and parts departments.
Be the first point of contact with technical specialists at suppliers.
Set the department's priorities and, in conjunction with the service advisor, schedule and allocate jobs.
Ensure an out of hours contact is available to customers.
Ensure warranty recoveries are maximised through proper processes.
Calculate quotations for customers/sales dept. as requested.
Ensure the company's health and safety policy and procedures are followed.
Management of workshop department vehicle fleet (inc. forklifts).Requirements:

Qualified tractor/farm machinery mechanic with minimum 5 years post qualification experience required.
Experience in a similar position, ideally with some experience in agricultural or hardware industries
Strong people management skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to juggle task and handle changing priorities
Comfortable in a leadership role with the confidence and maturity to make sound decisions under pressure
An aptitude to invest in training others and sharing information.
