Location: Surbiton, London
Home: Brand-new 4-bed children's residential home supporting children and young people aged 7–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum with Ofsted related bonus

What a Successful Applicant Should Have
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it
Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children in a residential care setting within the last 5 years
At least 1 year's experience in a senior or leadership position within residential childcare
Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices and child protection procedures
Experience developing and implementing care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff teams
Experience working effectively with external agencies and stakeholders
Understanding of Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Children Act 1989 & 2004, and Care Standards Act 2000
Knowledge of attachment theory, child development, trauma-informed practice, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
Strong organisational, communication, and budget management skills
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the children's home
Ensure the home consistently delivers outstanding standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance
Lead, supervise, and develop a high-performing care team
Create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive
Oversee care planning, risk management, and the delivery of individualised support
Promote positive outcomes, emotional development, and stability for children and young people
Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, professionals, families, and external agencies
Monitor and continuously improve the quality of care and service delivery
Manage budgets, resources, and staffing effectively to ensure operational success
Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, driving the home towards positive outcomes
Ensure all safeguarding concerns are appropriately managed and reported in line with legislation and best practice
