Interim SENDCo – September to December 2026 | Ilford (IG6)
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified SENDCo to join a welcoming secondary school in Ilford (IG6) on an interim basis from September to December 2026, whilst the school recruits for the role on a permanent basis.
This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 5 days per week) and presents an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEND professional to make an immediate impact on the provision and outcomes for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
The Role:
Lead and manage the school's SEND provision.
Work closely with staff, parents, external agencies, and senior leadership.
Ensure students receive appropriate support and interventions.
Maintain and oversee EHCPs and SEND documentation.
Contribute to strategic planning and inclusion initiatives. Desirable:
The ability to offer some English teaching would be highly advantageous. Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or working towards it.
Previous SENDCo experience within a secondary school setting.
Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice. Location: Ilford, Essex (IG6 area)
Salary:
This would typically equate to around £180 - £350 per day, with exceptional candidates potentially commanding more
