Location: Wandsworth, South West London
Purpose of the Role
At Remedy we are looking for a science technician to support the effective delivery of science education within a school in Wandsworth by preparing practical materials, maintaining laboratories and equipment, ensuring health and safety compliance, and assisting teaching staff in creating a stimulating and safe learning environment for pupils.
Key Responsibilities
Practical Preparation & Lesson Support
Prepare, set up, and clear away materials and equipment for science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Support teachers during practical sessions when required, including demonstrations of equipment use.
Develop and trial practical activities and resources to support curriculum delivery.Laboratory Management
Maintain laboratories, prep rooms, and storage areas to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.
Ensure accurate stock control of chemicals, consumables, and equipment; place orders as needed in consultation with the Head of Science.
Carry out routine calibration, testing, and maintenance of equipment.Person Specification
Essential
Experience working in a laboratory environment (school, industrial, or academic).
Good scientific knowledge across at least one discipline (biology, chemistry, or physics).
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads independently.
Understanding of laboratory safety and safe handling of equipment and chemicals.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Desirable
Previous experience as a school science technician.
A relevant science qualification (A-levels, BTEC, or degree-level).
Familiarity with CLEAPSS guidance and school laboratory procedures.
Ability to contribute to extracurricular STEM activities.What We Offer:
