Location: Peterborough
Contract: 6 Months (Potential Extension)
Rate: Up to £38.49 per hour / £307.92 per day (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Full-Time, Onsite
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering and product development environment, supporting engine and powertrain testing programmes within a state-of-the-art test facility.
This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to work on bespoke test rigs, facility upgrades, fault finding, and new product development projects across a wide range of testing applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical systems, test rigs, and facility equipment
Support engine and powertrain testing programmes
Deliver small to medium-sized engineering projects
Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement solutions
Produce technical reports and engineering documentation
Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teamsEssential Skills
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience within test facilities, test cells, validation, or development environments
Mechanical engineering background with project delivery experience
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred Industry Experience

Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
Relevant industry experience will also be consideredWorking Hours:
Monday-Thursday: 8:30am-4:45pm
Friday: 8:30am-4:15pm
One-stage, face-to-face interview process including a facility tour
