Fabrication Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Fabrication Engineer on behalf of our client based in St Helens. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fabrication professional looking to join a well-established and growing business.

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Salary is £40,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Drawing & Technical Capability

Confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
Create fabrication drawings
Work from client specifications and produce shop-ready drawings
Understand tolerances, weld symbols, and surface finishesSoftware Skills

Competent in relevant engineering and drawing software packagesHands-on Fabrication Knowledge

Welding processes
Cutting, drilling and forming techniques
Assembly methods
Jigging and sequencing of workBS EN 1090 & Compliance Knowledge

Material traceability requirements
Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)The Successful Candidate Will Be Able To:

Clearly explain drawings and technical information to workshop staff
Identify potential issues early and communicate practical solutions
Work independently with minimal supervision
Manage workload effectively and maintain high standards of qualityIdeal Background

Time-served Fabricator/Welder who has progressed into an engineering role
Strong understanding of fabrication and workshop processes
