Fabric Engineer
Location: Bicester
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: £35,000 per annum
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer to join our team at a commercial site in Bicester. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday, providing planned and reactive building fabric maintenance to ensure the site remains safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard.
The ideal candidate will have a strong carpentry background combined with experience in general building maintenance and fabric repairs.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive building fabric maintenance works.
* Undertake carpentry repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks.
* Repair and maintain doors, locks, ironmongery, partitions, ceilings, flooring, and other building fabric elements.
* Complete minor painting and decorating, patch plastering, tiling, and general fabric repairs.
* Identify building defects and carry out effective remedial works.
* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.
* Maintain accurate records of completed works and maintenance activities.
* Support the wider facilities maintenance team when required.
Essential Requirements
* Recognised Carpentry Qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Fabric Engineer, Carpenter, Maintenance Technician, or in a similar building maintenance role.
* Good all-round knowledge of commercial building fabric maintenance.
* Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
Package
* £35,000 per annum.
