Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Manufacturing | Days Based (Mon–Fri) | £36,000 then once trained £38,000 + Bonus + Share Scheme
A leading UK manufacturing business within the cold roll-forming and engineering sector is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Engineer to join its established engineering team. This is a full-time permanent role offering long-term stability, training and progression within a modern manufacturing environment.
The role is based on a Monday to Friday days shift (37 hours per week), with a starting salary of £36,000 rising to £38,000 following training, plus potential annual bonus and share scheme participation.
This position would suit a time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Technician with strong manufacturing experience and a proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Reactive maintenance on manufacturing machinery
* Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Mechanical fault diagnosis and repair
* Hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding
* Mechanical fitting, welding and fabrication
* Support production by reducing downtime
* Record maintenance activities accurately
* Liaise with Production Managers and Team Leaders
* Investigate breakdowns and complete repairs
* Identify root causes of failures
* Implement corrective and reliability improvements
* Support continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure safe and efficient maintenance practices
* Work within a multi-skilled engineering team
Candidate Requirements
* Time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
* City & Guilds Level 1 & 2 Mechanical Engineering
* Manufacturing maintenance experience
* Strong mechanical fitting ability
* Hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding skills
* Welding and fabrication experience
* Planned maintenance / PPM experience
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Eligible to work in the UK
