About the role

ERS Education is recruiting qualified SEN Teachers for supply, long-term, and permanent positions across London. We place SEN teachers into a range of specialist settings including special schools, SEMH provisions, AP settings, and mainstream schools with SEN resourced units.

Whether you are looking for flexible day-to-day supply work, a long-term placement to build on, or a permanent role where you can really put down roots — we work with some of London’s most respected SEN schools and can find the right fit for you.

Types of schools and settings we work with

*

State-funded special schools (ASD, SEMH, PMLD, complex needs, MLD)

*

SEMH specialist schools and alternative provision settings

*

Mainstream schools with SEN resourced provisions and high EHCP cohorts

*

Multi-academy trusts (MATs) with specialist SEN schools

*

Independent special schools and specialist colleges

What you will be doing

*

Planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons to small classes of pupils with complex SEN

*

Writing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contributing to EHCP reviews

*

Working closely with TAs, LSAs, and therapists to deliver a holistic approach to each pupil’s needs

*

Building strong, consistent relationships with pupils who may have experienced significant trauma or disruption

*

Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals as part of a multi-agency team

*

Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and contributing to reporting requirements

What we are looking for

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential

*

Experience teaching pupils with SEN, ideally in a special school or SEMH setting

*

Experience with one or more of: ASD, SEMH, PMLD, complex needs, SpLD, MLD

*

Ability to plan and adapt lessons to meet a wide range of individual needs

*

Resilient, reflective, and genuinely motivated by working with pupils with complex needs

*

Strong behaviour management skills and a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach

*

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

What ERS Education offers

Competitive daily rates: £160–£240 per day for supply (dependent on experience and inner/outer London)

*

Permanent salaries: Inner London £40,317–£52,300 (Main Pay Range) plus SEN allowance of £2,787–£5,497

*

Outer London permanent salaries: £37,870–£50,474 plus SEN allowance

*

Flexible supply - choose your days, your preferred need types, and your area of London

*

Long-term placements that often convert to permanent roles
