Secondary School - Unqualified English Teacher
Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Pay: £110-£140 per day (depending on experience)

We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Colchester that is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Unqualified English Teacher to join its English department. This school is committed to providing a high-quality education and supporting aspiring educators who are passionate about making a positive impact on students' learning and development.

Job Overview:

Full-time, Monday - Friday Unqualified English Teacher role.
Deliver pre-planned and supported English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Support students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
Create an engaging and positive classroom environment that promotes learning.
Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support achievement.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
Work closely with experienced teachers, department leaders, and support staff.
Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment opportunities.This Unqualified English Teacher role in Colchester offers an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, cover supervisors, tutors, or individuals with relevant experience looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing teacher training. You will receive ongoing support while developing your confidence and skills within a welcoming and ambitious school environment.

What We're Looking For:

A degree in English, English Literature, Creative Writing, Journalism, or a related subject is desirable.
Experience working with young people in an educational, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or youth work setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for English and helping students achieve their potential.
Confidence managing groups of students and maintaining positive classroom behaviour.
A proactive, professional, and enthusiastic approach.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).What's Next?
