Secondary School - Behaviour Support Assistant
Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Pay: £90-£120 per day (depending on experience)

We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Braintree, rated GOOD by Ofsted, that is seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant. This school is committed to providing a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student is supported to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Job Overview:

This school caters for students aged 11-16.
Full-time, Monday - Friday Behaviour Support Assistant role.
Provide one-to-one and small group support for students displaying challenging behaviour.
Support students with SEMH needs, behavioural difficulties, and barriers to learning.
Implement behaviour support strategies and interventions in line with school policies.
Build positive and trusting relationships with students to promote engagement and progress.
Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, SENCOs, and senior leaders.
Support students both in lessons and during unstructured times throughout the school day.
Monitor and record student behaviour, attendance, and progress.
Promote positive behaviour, resilience, self-regulation, and emotional wellbeing.This Behaviour Support Assistant role in Braintree offers the opportunity to work within a supportive and ambitious school environment where relationships and student wellbeing are at the heart of the school's ethos. You will play a vital role in helping young people overcome challenges, re-engage with learning, and achieve positive outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, residential care, or support settings.
Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, ADHD, ASD, or additional needs is desirable.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Calm, patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.
Ability to manage challenging situations confidently and professionally.
A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed.
Strong teamwork and organisational skills.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).What's Next?
