This Interim Head of Service: Improvement opportunity offers the chance to lead meaningful change across Children's Social Care and help shape services that improve outcomes for children, young people, and families. If you are an experienced Head of Service, senior social work leader, or Children's Services improvement specialist, this role offers genuine influence at a strategic level.

As an Interim Head of Service: Improvement, you will work closely with senior leaders, practitioners, partners, and government colleagues to drive sustainable improvement. You'll have the autonomy to lead transformation programmes, service redesign, and practice development within a supportive and ambitious environment

Package & Benefits:

• £500 per day.

• Outside IR35.

• 12-month interim agency contract.

• Accommodation available at candidate cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver improvement programmes, action plans, and performance frameworks across Children's Social Care.

• Drive service reviews, redesign initiatives, and the implementation of new services and pathways.

• Work collaboratively with partners across Education, Health, Police, and the voluntary sector to improve outcomes for children and families.

• Produce high-quality reports and recommendations for senior leaders, boards, and government stakeholders.

About You

• Qualified Social Worker with substantial experience in Children's Social Care service improvement or senior operational leadership.

• Strong knowledge of statutory frameworks, regulatory requirements, and best practice within children's services.

• Proven track record of leading transformational change and improving service performance and outcomes.
