Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Slough to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) for a KS1 class. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their teaching journey in a nurturing environment with excellent support and guidance.

The Role
As a KS1 ECT, you will inspire young learners at a crucial stage in their development, supporting them in building strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social skills within a caring and engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum
Support pupils’ early development in reading, writing, phonics, and maths
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Assess and monitor pupil progress with support from senior staff and mentors
Differentiate learning to support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEN
Foster pupils’ confidence, curiosity, and love of learning
Work closely with teaching assistants and experienced colleagues
Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider school community
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS (ECTs welcome to apply)
Passion for teaching and supporting young learners in KS1
Good understanding of early learning and phonics (or willingness to develop this)
Positive, proactive, and nurturing approach to teaching
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work full-time in the Slough area from September
Desirable
Experience from placements within KS1
Familiarity with phonics schemes (e.g., Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds)
Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive teaching practices
Willingness to learn and develop as part of an ECT programme
