Rate: £450.00 a day via Umbrella
The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Data Security Engineer to join a high-performing cyber security team. This is an exciting contract opportunity to play a key role in protecting sensitive data and strengthening security frameworks within a leading organisation. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data security solutions, ensuring robust protection against evolving cyber threats while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement data security policies to safeguard sensitive information
Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential security gaps
Design and maintain encryption, access control, and authentication systems
Monitor network activity, detect threats, and respond to security incidents
Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to integrate security solutions
Ensure compliance with regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001
Stay up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
Strong background in data protection, encryption, and security frameworks
Hands-on experience with firewalls, SIEM tools, and intrusion detection systems
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Desirable Certifications
CISSP, CISM, or CEH (preferred but not essential)
