Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a leading fabrication company to recruit a Graduate Quality Engineer based in Oxfordshire to support their growing project book.

This Graduate Quality Engineer role comes with a structured development pathway, funded training, mentoring from experienced engineers, and exposure to high-integrity projects across nuclear, fusion, defence, healthcare and energy sectors.

Responsibilities and duties of the Graduate Quality Engineer role
Within the role you will:
* Support the implementation and maintenance of quality procedures, inspection plans and project quality requirements
* Translate engineering drawings, specifications and standards into effective shop floor controls
* Verify product conformity through inspection and documentation review across fabrication and welding processes
* Identify, report and support investigation of non-conformances, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Maintain accurate quality documentation, including traceability records and certification packs
* Assist with internal, customer and third-party audits
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure compliance and resolve quality issues
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve process control

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Welding, Aerospace or related engineering discipline (or equivalent)
* Ability or willingness to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Structured, evidence-based problem-solving approach
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* High level of personal ownership and integrity
* Eligibility to work in the UK and obtain security clearance if required
