Location: Sunderland (Office Based)
Job Type: Fixed Term (12 Months – Maternity Cover)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 (40 hours per week)

Overview

We are currently supporting a well-established maintenance and repair business in Sunderland with the recruitment of a Transport Administrator to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused individual with transport or fleet experience to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy fleet function.

The Role

As Fleet Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support to the Fleet Manager, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained, compliant, and operating efficiently. You will act as a key point of coordination between internal teams and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities

* Schedule and coordinate vehicle maintenance, servicing, and inspections

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date fleet records

* Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to arrange timely vehicle repairs

* Support planning of repair bookings to minimise operational downtime

* Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Fleet Manager

* Offer cover during periods of absence, including annual leave

Requirements

* Previous experience within transport, logistics, or fleet administration (essential)

* Strong organisational and time management skills

* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

* High level of accuracy and attention to detail

* Confident administrative skillset and computer literacy

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

* Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment

* Flexible and willing to learn new systems and processes
