Creative SEN Teaching Assistant – Make Every Day Count!
Full-Time | Immediate/September Start | SEN School Setting

Are you the kind of Teaching Assistant who turns a cardboard box into a spaceship, uses music to encourage communication, or celebrates every small achievement like it's a huge victory?
Do you believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, communicate, and shine in their own unique way?
If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and creative SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic specialist school supporting children with Autism and complex communication needs. Many of the pupils use Makaton, PECS, and other non-verbal communication methods, so experience with alternative communication strategies is highly valued.

What You'll Be DoingNo two days are the same. One moment you could be leading a sensory activity, the next you're helping a child communicate their first choice using PECS or celebrating a breakthrough with Makaton signs.
You'll work closely with teachers and therapists to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences that build confidence, independence, and joy.

We're Looking For Someone Who -
Loves thinking outside the box and bringing learning to life
Has experience using Makaton, PECS, or other alternative communication methods
Has supported non-verbal children or young people with SEND
Is patient, positive, and able to build trusting relationships
Enjoys sensory play, creative activities, storytelling, music, art, or outdoor learning
Wants to make a genuine difference every single dayWhether you've worked in a specialist school, mainstream SEN provision, or a care setting supporting children with additional needs, we'd love to hear your story.

Why You'll Love This Role -

Every day is different
You'll see real progress and celebrate meaningful milestones
Work alongside passionate teachers, therapists, and support staff
Build valuable SEND experience and develop your career
Competitive pay with ongoing training and supportIdeal Experience -
SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant
Makaton and/or PECS knowledge
Autism (ASC/ASD) support
SEND or specialist education experience
Non-verbal communication strategies
Sensory or play-based learning
One-to-one or small group supportBring Your Creativity. Inspire Confidence. Change Lives.
We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to sing, dance, paint, build, laugh, and find new ways to connect with children who communicate differently.

If you're passionate about inclusion and believe that creativity is one of the most powerful teaching tools, we'd love to welcome you to the team.

Apply today and help create a learning environment where every child can find their voice—whether that's through words, signs, symbols, or a smile.

We are committed to safeguarding children. Each applicant will be expected to undertake compliance checks including Prohibited list, Barred list, DBS and Qualifications
