Location: Sunderland

Salary: £25,200 per annum

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:30 to 16:30 and Friday, 08:30 to 15:30

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Working Week: 36.5 hours

Reports To: Production Supervisor

About the Company

Would you like to join a well-established specialist manufacturer based in Sunderland, operating from a 14,000 sq. ft. facility and producing a wide range of filtration products for industrial and commercial applications The company is ISO 9001 accredited and is committed to producing high-quality components that meet strict performance and quality standards.

With a total headcount of 17 employees, including 7 within production, this is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit SME where your reliability, work ethic and contribution will be genuinely valued. The role offers the chance to become an important part of a small, established team where you can make a visible impact.

The Role

We are looking for a reliable, practical and hands-on Process Operator to join the production team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a highly manual role involving assembly, hand work, material handling and quality checking within a manufacturing environment. The machinery used within the role is straightforward, with limited machine operation required, so the position would suit someone who is confident with repetitive manual work, has good attention to detail and can work accurately to instructions.

The role requires someone who is physically fit, comfortable standing for long periods throughout the day and able to work independently when required. Reliability, a strong work history and a positive attitude are essential.

This position would suit someone looking for a stable, long-term role within a small manufacturing business. It is best suited to someone who takes pride in doing a job well and is looking for consistency rather than a progression-led position.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Carrying out manual assembly of filter components and associated products

• Completing hands-on production and finishing tasks to required specifications

• Preparing, handling and measuring raw materials for production

• Operating simple production equipment where required

• Following work instructions for processes such as cutting, rolling, socking, welding, printing, potting and packaging

• Carrying out quality control checks during and after production

• Ensuring process accuracy and maintaining high standards of workmanship

• Completing production documentation, batch records and inspection logs accurately

• Handling materials safely and efficiently throughout the production process

• Supporting daily and weekly production targets

• Reporting any production issues, quality concerns or delays to the Production Supervisor

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area

• Following health, safety and environmental procedures at all times, including the correct use of PPE

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, assembly, process work or manual handling

• A reliable and consistent work history

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic

• The ability to work independently and stay focused throughout the day

• Good attention to detail and accuracy

• A practical, hands-on approach to work

• The ability to follow work instructions and complete documentation correctly

• A good level of physical fitness, as the role involves standing for long periods and manual work

• A team-focused approach while also being comfortable working alone when required

• Good timekeeping and attendance

Experience within manual assembly, production, manufacturing, quality control, material handling, packaging, filtration, engineering, plastics, components or similar environments would be advantageous.

What’s on Offer

• Full-time, permanent opportunity

• £25,200 annual salary

• 36.5-hour working week

• Monday to Thursday, 08:30 – 16:30

• Early finish on Fridays at 15:30

• 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays

• Standard company pension

• Sickness policy that rewards long service and longevity

• Opportunity to join a small, established SME where your work will be noticed

• Close-knit production team environment

• Stable, long-term role within a specialist manufacturing business

• ISO 9001 accredited working environment

• Clear opportunity to make a positive impact within a small team
