SEN Teacher - EYFS Specialist Role (Full-Time Opportunity)

Location: Barnet, North London
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner)

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly respected specialist school in Barnet to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher to work within an EYFS class.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a warm, inclusive, and values-driven setting that supports children and young people with a range of learning difficulties, autism, and complex needs. The school is committed to providing a nurturing, play-based and highly individualised EYFS curriculum that enables every child to develop communication, independence, and early learning skills at their own pace.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher in EYFS, you will be responsible for delivering creative, engaging, and highly differentiated learning experiences tailored to the developmental needs of early years pupils with SEND. You will create a safe, structured, and stimulating environment where children can thrive through exploration, play, and targeted support.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering an adapted EYFS curriculum tailored to pupils with complex needs.
Using play-based and sensory approaches to support early learning and development.
Assessing and tracking progress against EHCP outcomes and early developmental milestones.
Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and external professionals.
Supporting communication development, including the use of AAC, visuals, and structured routines.
Creating a calm, consistent, and nurturing classroom environment.The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience working within EYFS and/or with pupils with SEND (autism, SLD, complex needs).
A strong understanding of early childhood development and differentiated teaching approaches.
Confidence using play-based learning and sensory strategies.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A patient, creative, and child-centred approach to teaching.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs in their earliest stages of learning.What the School Offers:
