STEM Recruitment is seeking a talented and experienced protein scientist to support the delivery of drug discovery projects within Protein Science, Biophysics and Structural Biology department. This role is suited to either an established Senior Scientist or an emerging Associate Principal Scientist looking to take greater ownership of projects, own client interactions, and drive scientific excellence. The role is based full time at their facility in Edinburgh.

You will play a key role in delivering Biophysics and Protein Science projects, working both independently and collaboratively to generate high‑quality data and insights, supporting project goals and contributing to scientific decision-making. You will lead small-to-medium client projects, ensuring delivery to quality, time, and budget whilst working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external clients.

Skills and experience:

* Strong hands-on experience across Biophysical techniques (e.g. SPR, GCI, ITC, DLS, DSF, SEC-MALS) and Protein Production across a breadth of targets in Drug Discovery.

* Experience leading scientific projects demonstrating good scientific judgement and problem-solving skills.

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (ie. clients).

* Experience mentoring, training, or supporting junior scientists is desirable

* Relevant degree (PhD preferred or equivalent experience)
