We are currently looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday, 8:30-17:00. This is a hybrid role, based at our Oakwood site, with up to four days per week of remote work and one day on site. Initially, more days on site may be required.

The Role
As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will support the production of accurate and compliant financial reporting, helping to ensure the business meets statutory, accounting, tax and VAT requirements.
You will play a key role in preparing financial reports to agreed deadlines, maintaining balance sheet integrity through reconciliations, analysis and reporting, and supporting month-end processes and group reporting activities.
Working closely with colleagues across finance, insurance, cashier and AP/AR teams, you will help ensure the accurate production of financial information in line with Group policies, accounting standards and legislative requirements.
Additionally, you will:
- Prepare and support VAT returns and corporate tax calculations
- Monitor and identify current or future financial risks
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP and relevant financial legislation
About You
To be considered as an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will need:
- To be studying towards ACCA, CIMA or AAT
- Experience working in a complex finance environment
- Experience of month-end processes
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft applications
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational and analytical skills and attention to detail
