Scaffolding Estimator - Bromley, Kent

As a Scaffolding Estimator, you will be responsible for the preparation, management, and submission of detailed cost estimates and tender packages for a wide range of residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and rail projects. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will ensure all estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project specifications, client requirements, and commercial objectives.

You will support construction, major rail and infrastructure schemes, working closely with leading Tier 1 contractors and principal contractors on complex projects requiring detailed planning, strict compliance, and effective stakeholder coordination. This may include estimating for station refurbishments, bridge works, trackside access solutions, maintenance programmes, and large-scale construction projects where safety, programme requirements, and operational constraints are critical.

You will prepare detailed quotations, schedules of rates, variations, and commercial proposals while maintaining a strong understanding of current market conditions, supplier pricing, and industry regulations. You will regularly negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and maximise project profitability without compromising quality or safety.

In addition to estimating duties, you will support business development activities by attending client meetings, conducting pre-contract discussions, and building long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers. You will provide technical advice and guidance on scaffold design options, project feasibility, and value-engineering opportunities to help clients achieve efficient project outcomes

Key Responsibilities and Achievements

Producing detailed cost estimates and competitive tender submissions for residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and rail projects.
Supporting major projects delivered for leading Tier 1 contractors and principal contractors.
Reviewing technical drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documentation.
Conducting site surveys, site evaluations, and feasibility assessments.
Calculating labour, materials, transport, equipment, and associated project costs.
Preparing quotations, schedules of rates, budgets, cost plans, and tender returns.
Liaising with clients, engineers, designers, suppliers, and project delivery teams.
Supporting contract negotiations and pre-construction planning activities.
Identifying value-engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
Monitoring market trends, supplier pricing, and industry developments.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, temporary works requirements, and rail industry standards.
Building and maintaining strong client relationships to support repeat business and company growth.
