Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southwark to recruit a committed and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant for a September 2026 start.

This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school is recognised for its supportive ethos and strong commitment to pupils' academic achievement, emotional wellbeing, and personal development. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils develop confidence, remain engaged in learning, and achieve their full potential.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and empathetic, with a genuine passion for supporting children-including those with additional needs-in a positive and nurturing school environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children in a primary school setting (essential)
Knowledge of strategies to support learning, communication, and behaviour
A calm, caring, and resilient approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a teamKey Responsibilities:

Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions
Support the class teacher with differentiated learning activities
Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
Use creative and engaging approaches to enhance learning
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO
