Operational Support Officer (Court Usher)
Location: Bournemouth (BH7)
Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour
Contract: Temporary (6 months)
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full-time, fully office-based
Brook Street are currently recruiting for Operational Support Officers to join a busy court environment in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience within the justice system, working in a varied role that combines front-facing court usher duties with administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
This role is predominantly court-based, with responsibilities including:
Acting as a court usher, supporting the smooth running of court hearings
Communicating effectively with judges, legal professionals, and court users
Managing courtrooms and ensuring proceedings run on time
Providing guidance and assistance to members of the public
You will also support the wider team with administrative duties, such as:
Processing court orders and legal documentation
Maintaining accurate records and filing
Responding to telephone and email enquiries
Data entry and updating internal systems
About You
We are looking for candidates who are:
Confident and professional in a customer-facing environment
Calm under pressure and able to handle sensitive situations
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
IT literate and comfortable using multiple systems
Proactive, adaptable, and willing to learn
Experience Required
Previous administrative experience is essential
Customer service experience is desirable
Personal Attributes
Friendly and approachable
Strong communicator
Team player with a positive attitude
Patient, considerate, and reliable
Able to use initiative and support colleagues when needed
