Pastoral Lead - Liverpool (Full-Time, Temp to Perm)

Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a secondary school in Liverpool to recruit an experienced and motivated Pastoral Lead to join their dedicated pastoral team on a full-time, temp to perm basis starting September 2026.

The Role

This is a key support staff position focused on safeguarding, student wellbeing, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of a year group. You will play a central role in tracking and monitoring student behaviour, attendance, progress, and wellbeing, while working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive the appropriate support and interventions.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a main point of contact for students, parents, staff, and external agencies
Monitor and track student progress, attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing
Support safeguarding processes and respond to day-to-day pastoral concerns
Work closely with the pastoral team to manage cases and coordinate interventions
Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies, including rewards and sanctions
Organise and support Parents' Evenings, reports, and key school events
Build strong relationships with vulnerable pupils and their families
Maintain accurate records using school systems such as CPOMS
Lead tutor teams, pastoral meetings, and contribute to whole-school initiatives
Support transition between Key Stages and prepare students for further education or employment

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience in a pastoral, safeguarding, or student support role within education
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
High levels of emotional intelligence, empathy, and resilience
A proactive and professional approach to supporting student wellbeing

Salary & Details

Grade: NJC SCP16-SCP24
Salary: £27,274 - £31,648 (FTE £30,518 - £35,412)
Contract: Temp to Perm, Full-Time
Start Date: September 2026

This role is subject to enhanced safeguarding checks, including an enhanced Child Workforce DBS with barred list check, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines.
