Simply Education is working in partnership with a specialist education setting in Wigan to recruit an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time, long-term supply role starting in September.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive school environment, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including SEND, SEMH, ASD, and communication difficulties. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, delivering interventions, and helping pupils overcome barriers to education.

The Role

Deliver learning activities and interventions to individuals and small groups
Support pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs
Assist teachers with lesson delivery, planning, and classroom management
Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development
Help implement EHCP targets and individual support plans
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and attendance
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
Has experience working within a school or specialist education setting
Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider school team
A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
