Simply Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a specialist SEND school in Wigan that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join their team from September.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and inclusive setting, teaching pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and communication and interaction needs.
The position is offered on a long-term supply basis and has the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
We are looking for a passionate teacher who is committed to helping every pupil achieve success, develop confidence, and reach their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment.
The Role
Deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
Support pupils' academic, emotional, social, and behavioural development
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, parents, carers, and external agencies
Contribute to EHCP targets, reviews, and pupil progress assessments
Implement effective behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
Promote independence, confidence, and positive outcomes for all learners
The Ideal Candidate
Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Has experience teaching children or young people with SEND
Demonstrates a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices
Has experience supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, MLD, or complex needs (desirable)
Possesses excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Is patient, resilient, adaptable, and passionate about SEND education
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
